Fund Administration

Selected institutions will be advanced funding in 3-year periods and will be responsible for applicant selection, disbursement and reporting of funds, and a quarterly call with our Board of Trustees to provide updates on operative experience, fellow performance, suggestions to continue refining the fellowship grant process and administration, and any research publications that fellow has participated in.

Program Qualification:

  • Utilization of APPs in the Operating Room for open aortic procedures.

  • Institution must provide the commitment of at least 2 Sponsoring Faculty members (one must be female) who will oversee each of the selected participants’ fellowship experience.

  • Candidates must provide at least 2 Letters of Recommendation from Attending Cardiothoracic / Vascular surgeons that address the following:

    • APP’s maturity as a surgical practitioner

    • APP’s performance in the Operating Room, including leadership qualities, technical expertise, and potential

    • APP’s growth as a member of the surgical team over a sustained period of time

  • Demonstrated active engagement with leading organizations supporting patients with connective tissue disorders.

  • Quarterly financial reporting: Quarterly financial reporting (due on the 15th of the month proceeding the end of each calendar quarter) is required and must include:

    • Total sources of funds received by APP fellow

    • Uses of funds (with detailed categories) by APP fellow

    • Funds remaining for each APP fellow and projected uses
