Dear Ms. Glowacki -

The preliminary assessment questions are the first step in the interview process for this position. The purpose of the questions is to assess your understanding of the position / role, your diligence in seeking out answers to questions you may not be as familiar with, and your enthusiasm for becoming part of the AESTHETICATION surgical family. We understand that you do not have a wide breadth of Operating Room experience, so please answer any related questions based on how you think it should be handled! Does the Operating Room environment excite you? Do you think you will be stressed out by the high-intensity environment?

Operating Room Expectations

What would you expect the atmosphere of the O.R. for high-risk cases to be like? What types of communication styles and respect to other team members do you feel is appropriate?

Operating Room Etiquette

What are some characteristics that you believe are essential to create appropriate Operating Room etiquette to facilitate successful and life-saving surgeries?

Gaining Experience on the Surgical Team

As you gain experience, would becoming a leader on the surgical team that others look to during intense cases intimidate you?

Hierarchy in the Operating Room

Do you believe a high-stakes surgical team should have a strong hierarchy? If so, in what ways would that hierarchy show?

Operating Room Emergencies

Would taking part in the resuscitation of a patient who has coded on the Operating Table be too much pressure for you? What roles do you believe are critical for team members (including yourself) to perform for a successful outcome?

Appropriate Surgical PPE

What types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) would you expect to wear during cases where are known bloodborne diseases such as HIV and/ or Hep-C?

Seamless Surgical Team

Do you think it will be hard for you to build strong rapport and synchronization with the surgical team in the Operating Room? What are some ways you think will help facilitate your ability to be completely in-sync with the surgeon and other key team members?

Patient / Provider Surgical Barrier

I feel it is essential to maintain an 'emotional barrier' with patients in order to perform in an objective manner during a complex surgery. How do you feel about that and would being a bit 'cold' in your approach to the patient be ok with you?

Patient Consultations

How would you feel about being a part of pre-op patient consultations? What do you believe is appropriate attire for these serious discussions to build trust and credibility?
